BOX 219 GYM "BOX" classes are 50 minutes of action on our 120 lb. heavy bags. Gloves and hand wraps required. All BOX classes are time-based. Each class will start with a 4-5 minute warm-up, followed by anywhere from 5-10 rounds on the heavy bags, depending on the timer and class type, and will conclude with a 4-5 minute cool down. In between the heavy bag rounds will be a mixture of bodyweight exercises and/or equipment intervals, depending on the class and coach's game plan! The interval focus in BOX classes will coincide with the body part focus of the BURN classes for the same day. There are 4 variations of BOX class types: TECH, PLUS (+), CON (CONDITIONING), and FOCUS. The 4 types of BOX class are described in more detail below.
BOX : TECH classes, short for "technique", will consist of a variety of different combinations on the heavy bag. This style of class will be very instructional as well as cardio forward. Varying from round to round, the combos will be made up of an even mix of offensive as well defensive techniques.
BOX PLUS (+) classes will begin with relatively short combos that will build throughout the class to become a much longer combination by the end of class. This style of class will help fine tune your muscle memory for each technique while working the brain as well! This class will be instructional in nature with a focus on repetition and cardio.
BOX : CON classes, short for "conditioning", is exactly what is sounds like! This class type will be much less instructional, with a HEAVY focus on conditioning, speed and power. Physical power AS WELL AS your will power!
BOX : FOCUS classes will choose a singular technique and focus on different ways to execute that technique for the entire class. It may be a defensive maneuver, a certain punch, a particular style of footwork....you won't know until you get there!
